Days Four and Five

I am so creative with the post titles, right? I'm told that we've logged over 1000 miles in the first two days of westward boundedness... I just made up that word. On our way out Sunday we made a couple of quick stops, one of which was at Massey's, a really awesome frozen yogurt place in Carlisle, PA. If you're ever in the area, it is definitely worth going out of your way for:

We didn't really take many pictures Sunday since we were hitting the road pretty hard and got a bit of a late start. Dad made a great breakfast for us--pancakes, eggs, cantaloupe, and pineapple--which kept us fueled for the first leg of our journey. Well, there's always room for frozen custard...

We made it all the way to the other side of Columbus and stopped at Alton RV Park for our first night. It was already 9:30 when we stopped, so we didn't do much setting up. I had the distinct honor of sleeping on the floor of the RV :-)

After a good night's rest we got an early--sort of--start. and began trek through the next three states. First was Indiana:

where we stopped at Steak and Shake for lunch:

Then we crossed the border into Illinois and took a break about half way across:

Finally we crossed the great Mississippi and now find ourselves in Iowa. At Kellogg RV Park where the corn is taller than the people:
